Once in a while, Pelikan breaks out with a Souverän design that exceeds expectations, and the M1000 Raden Red Infinity is one of them. This limited-edition run released in 2023 features urushi red utilizing silver powder, while the raden strips were sourced from Australian abalone shell and layered in a continuous check pattern—a continuity that is said to bring constant luck, prosperity, and happiness. A layer of lacquer was used to seal the whole pen. 

What makes the Raden Red Infinity even more special is that each one is painstakingly handcrafted and signed by its artist using maki-e, so in essence, each unit is unique.
