Yozakura means “cherry blossom-viewing at night”, an event in the Japanese tradition of hanami, or flower viewing, which happens every spring when the cherry blossoms bloom. Yozakura brings another dimension to hanami with the blossoms glowing against lamplight, and is often considered more serene, intimate, and even romantic.
This occasion is the inspiration for the Namiki Yukari Yozakura Raden fountain pen. It features a metal body designed with Raden (mother-of-pearl) sakura petals floating in the night. For an otherworldly vibe, these are emphasized by using Togidashi Maki-e (burnished maki-e), which uses Hira Maki-e as a base before being layered with urushi and burnished with charcoal.
We have for sale a brand new Namiki Yukari Yozakura Raden fountain pen, complete with its box, papers, and other inclusions.
