In photography, the term “bokeh” refers to out-of-focus images that play with light, resulting in soft and dramatic points of color. It comes from the Japanese word “boke” that translates to “blur” or “haze”.

The Namiki Yukari Shooting Star fountain pen brings this effect to mind. Inspired by a more magical interpretation of shooting stars, it features bursts of light and their afterglow as one’s eyes try to focus on a meteor shower. Created by Misa・Yutaka, it features togidashi-taka maki-e (burnished raised maki-e) and raden (embedded mother of pearl), offering users an interesting visual and tactile experience. It’s crowned with a size #10 18-karat gold nib.

We have for sale a brand-new Namiki Yukari Shooting Star Raden fountain pen with an M nib. It comes complete with its box, papers, and other inserts.
