Roiro urushi shiage translates to “non-oil lacquer finish”, which is a laborious, time-consuming technique that requires using special charcoal to polish a surface to create a mirror-like finish. This takes patience, and great skill, which is why items that utilize this technique are highly prized.
Roiro urushi shiage is used on the Namiki Yukari Royale Vermillion, a gorgeous urushi pen made by the Kokkokai artisan collective. It features a gorgeous red color, a perfectly even surface, and a #20, 18-karat gold nib. It may look like a simple pen, but its simplicity is a masterpiece in itself.
We have for sale a brand new Namiki Yukari Royale Vermillion with an M nib. It comes complete with its box, papers, and other inserts.
