Namiki Yukari Chinkin Sakura

A homage to one of the most distinctive symbols of beauty and ephemerality, sakura is one of the most elegant of traditional Japanese designs still popular today. Petals of falling cherry blossoms adorn the Namiki Yukari Chinkin Sakura fountain pen, beautifully crafted by the Kokkokai collective using the Chinkin or “sunken gold” technique that requires engraving a design on a pre-lacquered surface, later inlaid with gold leaf or powder, creating vivid and intricate images that look almost three-dimensional.
