“Momijigari”, or maple-leaf hunting, is a traditional Japanese activity and a way to enjoy “koyo” or the turning of leaves from green to red and gold. It is a way to practice “mono no aware” or the appreciation of impermanence, and it’s also a way of coming together with family and friends to experience beautifully illuminated temple gardens, festivals, and seasonal dishes.
The Namiki Yukari Autumn Leaves features greens, reds, and golds of fall against a glossy back background. Kokkokai artists Michifumi Kawaguchi and Hideki Furuhara (Shotaku) used Togidashi Maki-e (Burnished Maki-e) to create a picturesque scene of a faraway pagoda and trees that denote the introspective nature of autumn. It carries a No. 10, 18-karat gold nib.
We have for sale a brand-new Namiki Yukari Autumn Leaves fountain pen, complete with its box, papers, and other inclusions.
