Namiki Nippon Art Mt. Fuji and Boat

The Namiki Nippon Art Collection is a collection of maki-e pens featuring concepts and visuals that summarize traditional Japanese culture. One of these pens is Mt. Fuji and Boat, which echoes the artist Hokusai’s “View of Fuji from a Boat at Ushibori” from "Thirty-Six Views of Fuji". Artisan Kokkokai employed Hira Maki-e, which offers a flat design, although the textures of the art still come through the protective lacquer, giving it more personality. It carries a 14-karat gold nib.
