The Namiki Nippon Art Dragon with Cumulus fountain pen was made in the Japanese tradition of the Unryu, or the Cloud Dragon associated with rain and storms. “Unryu” is also an art term  depicting the usual composition of a dragon weaving through clouds. This style was famously used by Edo-period artists such as Soga Shohaku and Tawaraya Sotatsu who were known for large-scale paintings on sliding doors  and folding screens. On the other hand, the Kokkokai collective depicted the Unryu in color on a lacquered surface using the Hira Maki-e (flat Maki-e) technique.

We have for sale a brand-new Namiki Nippon Art Dragon with Cumulus fountain pen with a No. 10, 14-karat gold nib in F. It comes complete with its box, papers, and other inclusions.
