Nakaya Writer Piccolo Kuro-Ishime

The Nakaya Writer Piccolo Kuro-Ishime is a pen with an ebonite base featuring a black, textured finish that mimics the look of hammered rock often seen on Japanese kitchen knife handles, kendo armor, and sword scabbards. “Ishime” requires sprinkling dry lacquer on a freshly lacquered surface, causing the material to clump and giving it its unique texture. Once settled, the surface is again layered with urushi and then polished, resulting in a cobblestone-inspired design.
