Montblanc Writers Edition Rudyard Kipling 3-Piece Set (FP/RB/MP)

Rudyard Kipling was a poet, short-story writer, and novelist best known for chronicling British India. He wrote vivid poems and narratives in the vernacular, making his works more readable and relatable to the common man. As imperialism was often his central topic, much of his literature became controversial, even polarizing, especially at the end of World War I. Many decades later, however, they would be studied for their technicality and become materials for post-colonial research in universities. 

Montblanc marks his contribution to English literature with the Writers Edition Rudyard Kipling set (2019). It features three writing instruments: a fountain pen, a rollerball pen, and a mechanical pencil. All feature a unique jungle green color from resin cap to barrel. The platinum-coated clip features the head of a wolf, symbolizing the pack that protected Mowgli as he grew up in Kipling’s ever-popular “Jungle Book”. A ring near the finial has a line from his poem “If—” engraved, and the author’s signature adorns the cap. The fountain pen has an 18-karat, rhodium-plated gold nib in Medium featuring a globe.
