“Treasure Island,” which was written by Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson under the pseudonym “Captain George North,” was more than a dive into human fickleness and vague objectives. It laid the foundation for literary travel adventures and established the blueprint for how pirates are presented in modern media, from the way they spoke to the treasures they hid. To this day, echoes of Robert Louis Stevenson’s work are seen in how adventure authors forge their stories, which makes him one of the most important writers in his genre.
In honor of the author who also penned “Kidnapped,” “The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde,” and “The Master of Ballantrae,” Montblanc released the Writers Edition Robert Louis Stevenson ballpoint pen. The pen takes its shape from a seafarer’s extendable spyglass. The barrel is made of black precious resin engraved with Xs, as “X marks the spot” when it comes to treasure hunting. The cream-colored, vertically-striped cap represents the planks of the schooner “Hispaniola.” The platinum-plated clip resembles a belaying pin used to organize rigging lines, and nestled behind it is a compass rose.
We have for sale a pre-owned Montblanc Writers Edition Robert Stevenson ballpoint pen complete with its box, papers, and other inclusions.
