Montblanc Writers Edition Homage to Homer Rollerball

Montblanc’s Writers Edition Homage to Homer pays tribute to the legendary Greek poet traditionally credited with the Iliad and the Odyssey, drawing many of its design references from the ancient world described in his epic works. 

The writing instrument takes its main inspiration from the story of the Trojan Horse. Its distinctive overall silhouette recalls the form of the horse, while the elongated clip references a spear, connecting the design to the warriors and battles central to Homer’s epics. 

The cap and barrel are crafted from matte black precious resin, a color choice inspired by traditional Greek black-figured pottery. Champagne-tone gold-coated fittings provide a striking contrast against the dark resin, while the engravings on the cone and rings borrow decorative motifs from ancient Greek pottery. 

The detailing continues through the finely engraved Greek meander pattern across the metal fittings.
