Edgar Allan Poe is an enduring author whose body of work has been considered an important precursor to modern literature. Known as the master of gothic texts, he explored the macabre through the use of imagery and a ballad-like rhythm that lends to the eeriness of his writings. One of his greatest poems is “The Raven”, which has made popular the simple yet grief-ridden quote, “Nevermore.”

In honor of this prolific author, Montblanc released the Writers Edition Edgar Allan Poe in 1998. Bordered by a black finial, section, and barrel end, the cap and the barrel feature deep blue resin with a smoke-like pattern, evoking the haunting tone of his works.

It comes with its complete set that includes an aged outer sleeve, a book-like box, and its papers. Do note that the indicated nib size on the box does not match what is on the pen (the box says “F” but the actual nib is “B”).
