Both a pilot and a novelist, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry lived an interesting life, flying first for the military before working for the French airmail carrier Aeropostale. He later became the director of Aeroposta Argentina S.A., and piloted its inaugural flight in November 1929 to chart new routes.
The engravings on the dark blue body of the Montblanc Writers Edition Antoine de Saint-Exupéry mechanical pencil memorialize the constellations Saint-Exupéry observed at 23:00 on that journey, with platinum-coated fittings inspired by the cockpit. Etched on its cone are the coordinates of several important cities that figured in his life. The pencil’s silhouette is inspired by the Caudron Simoun plane he flew and crashed into the Sahara Desert in December 1935, an experience that gave birth to his famous novel, “The Little Prince”.
We have for sale a brand-new Montblanc Writers Edition Antoine de Saint-Exupéry mechanical pencil, with its inner book-like box, papers, and other inclusions. No outer box.
