Homer, the legendary poet from ancient Greece, wrote the epic tales Iliad and Odyssey—timeless classics that laid the foundations of Western literature. He inspired towering figures in literary history such as Plato and Dante, and continues to influence the present in different media, from traditional art to movies and games.
In honor of this great man of history, Montblanc released the Writers Edition 2018 Homage to Homer—an interestingly shaped fountain pen based on the iconic 149’s size. Its unusual silhouette nods to the Trojan Horse from the Odyssey; when viewed capless, the pen’s body subtly resembles a horse’s head. The black material and the engraving on its gold trims borrow from the designs of traditional Greek pottery while its clip takes the form of Achilles’ spear and his helmet is finely etched onto the nib.
We have for sale a pre-owned Writers Edition 2018 Homage to Homer fountain pen with an No. 9, 18K gold F nib (three Writers Edition releases carry a No. 9 nib, the two others being the Dumas and the Hemingway). It has minimal micro scratches but is in good working condition. We’re offering only the pen, no box or papers.
Length capped: 14.7 cm.
