Virginia Woolf is one of the literary greats of the 20th century and is best known for novels such as “Mrs. Dalloway” and “To the Lighthouse”, as well as for feminist essays such as “A Room of One’s Own”. While she was born into privilege, her life was less than ideal, having suffered sexual abuse and going through bouts of depression that ultimately led to her death in 1941.
Yet her works continue to evoke vivid imagery as her prose was like a stream of consciousness, pulling you as a reader in, making you privy to her and her characters’ thoughts, almost like peeking through a window. Her honesty, shaped by her relationships and experiences, is what makes her literature evocative and relatable.
In honor of her life, Montblanc created the Writers Edition Virginia Woolf. While not as initially flamboyant as other fountain pens of the line, this 2006 release allows you to almost be as prolific as the author it was named after was, with its beautifully shaped barrel comfortable enough for continuous writing. The wave pattern on the pen was inspired by Virginia’s novel “The Waves”, while the piston knob features her signature.
We have for sale a new-old-stock Montblanc Writers Edition Virginia Woolf (2006) with an 18-karat gold nib in M. It comes in its sealed box, complete with its papers and other inclusions. Pen photos shown are for reference use only.
