Montblanc Writers Edition Rudyard Kipling

Rudyard Kipling was an English author best known for works such as The Jungle Book, Kim, and the poem If—. Through stories often centered on adventure, travel, and nature, Kipling became one of the most influential literary figures of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1907. 

To honor the celebrated writer, Montblanc released the Writers Edition Homage to Rudyard Kipling in 2019. The design takes much of its inspiration from The Jungle Book, particularly the imagery and atmosphere associated with the story’s jungle setting. Its olive-green resin body references the cover color of the first American edition of The Jungle Book, while the clip features an embossed wolf’s head inspired by the wolf pack that raised Mowgli in the novel. Kipling’s handwritten initials “R.K.” appear engraved on the cap, and lines from the poem If— are engraved on the cap top and cone ring. The pen is further finished with platinum-coated details and an 18-karat gold nib engraved with a globe motif.
