Montblanc Patron of Arts Scipione Borghese (Sealed)

The 17th-century Italian cardinal Scipione Borghese was a popular patron of artists who supported sculptor and architect Gian Lorenzo Bernini and collected Caravaggio’s works. As with many clergymen during the Baroque era, he indulged in questionable behaviors, including obsessively and illegally acquiring art. He built the Villa Borghese, which houses the Galleria Borghese, a museum of his extensive collection that still stands today. 

The Montblanc Patron of Art Homage to Scipione Borghese Limited Edition 4810 fountain pen is inspired by the extravagance of the Villa Borghese, featuring a granite barrel and a cap, section, and barrel-end made of ruthenium-coated brass. The conical barrel-end features an ancient carnelian coin, while the clip is set with a crystal stone. It’s finished with an 18-karat, ruthenium-plated gold nib.
