Montblanc Patron of Arts Charlemagne
₱185,000.00

Karl Der Grosse Charlemagne was King of the Franks, King of the Lombards, and later on, Emperor of the Carolingian Empire, which encompassed present-day France, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and parts of Spain and Austria.

While his rule had conflicts, it was generally considered the start of Europe’s unification. Moreover, it began the Carolingian Renaissance, which was a period of intellectual revival inspired by the Romans and the Greeks. The era produced architecture, art, music, and the theory of law. Charlemagne ordered schools to be built to train people to read and write in Latin and become functioning members of society.

Inspired by Charlemagne’s contributions to Europe, Montblanc released the Patron of Art Karl Der Grosse Hommage à Charlemagne in 2000. Most of the barrel and the cap are made of faceted sterling silver that gently twists upon itself. The gold-plated trims are reminiscent of the gilded bronze doors of the emperor’s Palatine Chapel in Aachen, and the clip is adorned with a synthetic onyx cabochon. The bi-color rhodium-plated, 18-karat gold nib is engraved with a medieval pattern that frames Charlemagne’s monogram.

We have for sale a Montblanc Patron of Art Karl Der Grosse Hommage à Charlemagne (new old stock) with an M nib. The pen has a bit of patina. It comes complete with its aged box, papers, and other inserts.

Length capped: approximately 14 cm.
