Queen Victoria inherited the throne of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland at 18, being the only surviving legitimate heir of the House of Hanover. Aside from pushing for social and industrial change, she was also known to support the arts, commissioning hundreds of portraits, including intimate ones for her husband, Prince Albert, with whom she launched the Great Exhibition of 1851. This event helped found the Museum of Manufactures, which later became the Victoria and Albert Museum, which still stands today. Queen Victoria’s famous wedding also became the standard of modern nuptials, making the white lace dress and tiered cakes the norm in such celebrations.
Inspired by the queen, the Montblanc Patron of Art Homage to Victoria is the perfect pair to the Homage to Albert — similar in silhouette, it features an ornate lacquer cap in mint green, the monarch’s favorite color. The clip is shaped like her scepter with a green jewel at its end, representing her engagement ring, while the blue finial is an interpretation of the Imperial State Crown. Engraved on the cap ring are Queen Victoria’s famous words, “I will be good,” and on the 18-karat gold nib is a rose in remembrance of her nickname, “Rose of England”.
We have for sale a brand-new Montblanc Patron of Art Homage to Victoria with an F nib. It comes complete with its box, papers, and other inclusions.
