Montblanc Patron of Art Homage to Pompadour 4810
₱185,000.00

If you think about gilded curves and soft, light colors at the mention of French decor, then you may, in part, thank Jeanne Antoinette Poisson, famously known as Madame de Pompadour. A marquise and mistress to Louis XV, she was a great supporter of the Rococo style, which features ornamental decoration with an abundance of gold, pastels, curves, and mouldings, often used to depict movement and drama.

Madame de Pompadour’s love for interior design translated to architecture, and she was known to push for the construction of the Place de la Concorde and the Petit Trianon. She was also a benefactor of François Boucher, whose voluptuous forms and art style remain recognizable to this day, and she played a vital role in establishing the Manufacture nationale de Sèvres, which continues to produce some of the best porcelain pieces globally.

In appreciation of her contribution to design, Montblanc released the Patron of Art Homage to Pompadour 4810, with a cap made from white Meissen porcelain decorated with a rose, the marquise’s favorite flower, and the crossed blue swords of Meissen. It has a striped, gold-plated,  gold-and-white barrel and gold-plated trims, and is highlighted by an 18-karat gold nib etched with feathers.

We have for sale a brand-new Montblanc Patron of Art Homage to Pompadour 4810 fountain pen with an M nib. It comes complete with its box, papers, and other inclusions.
