Maria Callas was a world-renowned opera singer who earned the name “La Divina” (The Divine One) for her skill, charisma, and vocal range. Her 1953 recording of Puccini’s Tosca is widely considered one of the decade's most significant opera recordings, and her role as the titular Druid priestess in Norma marked the peak of her career.

She unfortunately lost her voice early due to immense vocal strain, health issues, and heartbreak, leading to a series of tentative, unsuccessful comebacks. By 41, she had completely retired from the stage. She spent her last years mostly living in isolation in Paris and passed away at 53.

Despite her tragic life, La Divina was still considered the most influential dramatic soprano of the 20th century and remains the standard by which many opera performers measure themselves. In celebration of her 100th birthday and the magic she brought to the stage, Montblanc released the Muses Maria Callas, a pen that recalls her silhouette and features turquoise, her favorite color. A nod to her Greek roots is a synthetic turquoise stone on the clip reminiscent of the Aegean Sea. Her signature and a laurel wreath are etched on the cone with a design inspired by her performance as Norma.

We have for sale a brand-new Montblanc Muses Maria Callas rollerball pen with its inner box, papers, and other inclusions. No outer box.
