American actor James Dean only starred in three films before his untimely death, but he became a huge symbol of non-conformity and rebellion in the 1950s. He famously played a troubled teen in “Rebel Without a Cause”, and was also featured in “East of Eden” and “Giant”, which made him relatable to a younger generation looking for their own identity. His life, however, was cut short by a tragic car crash. He was only 24.
His rising career and sudden death made such a huge impact that it turned him into a legend, and today, he remains to be a cultural icon of America’s Golden Age. As such, Montblanc honored him with the Great Characters James Dean fountain pen. It features red precious resin reminiscent of the actor’s red leather jacket that he wore in “Rebel Without a Cause” and a clip in the shape of a gun as a nod to “Giant”. The cap ring is engraved with one of James’ popular quotes: "Dream as if you'll live forever. Live as if you'll die today."
