If you’re into jazz, then you probably know Miles Davis, a trumpeter and composer who drove the genre from the 1940s until the 1980s. Considered a great innovator, he developed styles such as modal and cool jazz, and promoted fusion by mixing jazz with rock and funk. He was also known for making the trumpet “sing” and giving it a rich, voice-like sound. The Harmon mute was also his signature favorite, as the technique’s soft, breathy notes allow more variation in musicality.
In honor of his great contribution to jazz music, Montblanc launched the Great Characters Miles Davis fountain pen in 2016. This trumpet-inspired release features the instrument’s pistons on the clip. On the black precious resin are designs that represent the milestones of American Jazz triggered by Davis. Engraved on the 14-karat, rhodium-plated gold nib is the silhouette of the legendary musician.
We have for sale a brand new Montblanc Great Characters Miles Davis Fountain Pen with an M nib. It comes complete with its box, papers, and other inserts.
