Leonard Bernstein was a pianist and composer, who was the first American-born conductor to lead the New York Philharmonic and conduct at La Scala in Milan. He was known for composing West Side Story, bringing to life one of the most popular musicals of the late 1950s. He was also an activist who helped fund HIV and AIDS research during a time when those who had the disease were stigmatized.
As a tribute to a legend both on and off the stage, Montblanc released the Donation Pen Special Edition 1996 Leonard Bernstein. Made from precious resin, this fountain pen features gold-plated fittings: its cap rings are inscribed with a few notes from the West Side Story song “Maria”, and its clip is beautifully crafted into a g-clef. Engraved on the pen’s 18-karat gold nib is a dove.
We have for sale a pre-owned Montblanc Donation Pen Leonard Bernstein with an M nib that comes with a mismatched box (the box indicates a B nib).
