Known as the “King of Waltz”, Johann Strauss II was one of the most prolific musicians of the 1800s, composing approximately 500 pieces during his lifetime, 150 of which were waltzes. His most famous waltz was “The Blue Danube”, which continues to be used in different media; in fact, it’s been prominently used in films such as “2001: A Space Odyssey" and “Titanic”.
In his honor, Montblanc released the Donation Pen Johann Strauss Special Edition in 2015, which has the same silhouette as the Leo Bernstein pen. It features a violin bow-inspired clip as a nod to Strauss’ instrument of choice. Engraved on the cap ring is the composer’s signature, while the ring is decorated with a bat, referencing “The Bat Overture”, an operetta of the same title.
We have for sale a brand-new Montblanc Donation Pen Special Edition 2015 Johann Strauss complete with its box, papers, and other inclusions.
