Montblanc 164 Blue Hour Solitaire Ballpoint

The Meisterstück Solitaire Blue Hour takes its inspiration from the brief transition between daylight and night known as the “blue hour,” when fading natural light creates deep blue tones and a distinctive atmosphere across the city. 

Montblanc translates that moment into a writing instrument finished in precious blue lacquer with platinum-coated details. Both the barrel and upper section feature an engraved hexagonal pattern beneath the blue lacquer, designed to evoke the refraction of lights and nighttime traffic in an urban landscape. 

The geometric surface gives the lacquer additional depth as light moves across the pen, shifting between darker and brighter shades of blue. Platinum-coated fittings provide a cool contrast against the rich lacquer, while the upper section is crowned with Montblanc’s signature white emblem. 

Its platinum-coated clip carries an individual serial number, while the three-ring design incorporates Montblanc branding and continues the classic Meisterstück aesthetic within the more contemporary Blue Hour finish. 

As a ballpoint, the pen uses a twist-action writing system and accepts Montblanc ballpoint refills, combining the substantial construction of the Solitaire collection with the convenience of an everyday writing instrument.
