The Meisterstück flagship has an interesting nib history. Montblanc started producing bicolor nibs for the 149 in the late 1970s. These were initially marked with “14C” to indicate their 14-karat gold composition; however, in the 1980s, this was updated to “14K”. Another innovation happened in the 1990s with the introduction of the tri-color nib, initially released on the Writers Edition Hemingway.
What we have available today is a pre-owned Montblanc 149 with a bicolor nib from the 1970s. It carries a soft and bouncy F nib marked with “14C”. We’re offering only the pen, no box or papers.
