The male protagonist of Shakespeare’s famous cautionary tale about family feuds and fatal romance, Romeo Montague is a young man carried by the intensity of emotions, falling for Juliet the first time he sees her at a masquerade ball and immediately forgetting his first love Rosaline, who rejected him. Nevertheless, his impulsiveness and later sincerity offer Juliet a way out of a life controlled by her family. These, however, also lead to the couple’s undoing and their untimely demise.
Inspired by the garden wherein Romeo hid during the famous balcony scene, the Montblanc 146 Romeo is made of teal-colored precious resin, complemented by platinum-plated trims. The cap is engraved with a rose, which Juliet mentions—"A rose by any other name would smell as sweet"—and also represents the couple’s passion despite all odds. The nib is made of Au 750 gold and is etched with a knife piercing a heart bearing Romeo’s name, representing the story’s tragic ending.
We have for sale a brand-new Montblanc 146 Romeo fountain pen with an M nib. It comes complete with its box, papers, and other inserts.
