Montblanc 162 Le Petit Prince & Fox Rollerball

In 2018, Montblanc introduced the first chapter of its Meisterstück Le Petit Prince collection, drawing inspiration from Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s timeless story and the relationship between the Little Prince and the Fox. The series explores themes of friendship, human connection, and the bonds that give meaning to our lives. 

For the LeGrand Rollerball, Montblanc translates the story into a deep blue precious-resin finish inspired by the dark blue sky of the universe. The rich blue cap and barrel give the familiar Meisterstück silhouette a distinctive identity while maintaining the proportions of the larger LeGrand format. 

The cap is milled with a fox-face pattern and incorporates a sentence from Le Petit Prince, while the iconic Montblanc emblem crowns the top. Three platinum-coated rings surround the cap, with the central ring carrying the Montblanc name. 

One of the edition’s most recognizable details appears on the platinum-coated clip, where a yellow lacquered star provides a vivid contrast against the deep blue resin and references the celestial imagery that runs throughout the story. 

As the LeGrand Rollerball version, the pen uses Montblanc’s larger rollerball refill system, combining the substantial proportions of the LeGrand with the smooth and convenient writing experience of a rollerball.
