The Roman Empire ruled the vast majority of the Mediterranean from its establishment in 27 BC until the fall of Constantinople in 1453. Its legacy has brought about many cultural shifts in Western civilization, including architecture, language, and legal frameworks, and to this day continues to be an inspiration for art, literature, and law.
Graf von Faber-Castell’s Pen of the Year 2018 is inspired by the influential Imperium Romanum. Its barrel is made from statuario marble from Carrara famously used by Michelangelo for his sculpture David, sectioned by platinum-plated rings etched with laurel wreaths. The barrel end takes its form from columns in Roman architecture, while the cap has engraved details of the Collosseum arches, with a denarius on its finial modeled after a rare silver coin from 44 BC. This release is limited to only 400 pieces.
We have for sale a brand-new Graf von Faber-Castell Pen of the Year Imperium Romanum (2018) complete with its box, papers, and other inclusions.
