Pernambuco, a kind of wood native to Brazil, was an important commodity in the 1500s due to the red dye that it produces. Today, it’s the material of choice of archetiers and musicians for violin bows, but the tree it comes from is becoming scarce not only because of the demand, but also due to rainforest shrinkage. Conservation efforts are now being made to revive the numbers of the Pernambuco tree.
This material was used in making the barrel of the Graf von Faber-Castell Classic Pernambuco fountain pen. This cartridge-converter pen features platinum-plated metal parts, a spring-loaded clip, and a bi-color, 18-karat gold nib with an iridium tip.
We have for sale a brand new Graf von Faber-Castell Classic Pernambuco fountain pen with an F nib. It comes complete with its box, papers, and other inserts.
Length capped: 13.7 cm.
