When beaten to its thinnest, gold turns into a very fine leaf used in many architectural wonders and works of art. In Japan, the city of Kanazawa has produced gold leaf used to decorate temples and treasures since the 16th century. In fact, artisans from the whole country source their stock from this locale.
Gold leaf was used on the Platinum 3776 Kanazawa-haku Fujin Raijin, with a design based on the work of 16th century painter Tawayara Sotatsu, which depicts the wind god Fujin and the thunder god Raijin. To match the motif, it carries a 14K gold nib. This isn’t a pen you put in your pocket—it needs its own sleeve with a soft interior to keep the integrity of the finish.
We have for sale a brand new Platinum 3776 Kanazawa-haku Fujin Raijin with an M nib. It comes complete with its box, papers, and other inclusions.
